Viable (PubMed:29892014). Loss of daughter centrioles and asymmetrical mother centriole-derived basal body results in defective nine-fold symmetry of cilia in neurosensory organs and therefore motor coordination defects (PubMed:29892014, PubMed:33704067). Plp-associated structures are also disorganized but ciliary structures are still present in the scolopale rods (PubMed:29892014). Males are fertile, whereas female are sterile (PubMed:29892014).
