Larvae and adults display defects in starvation-induced, developmental and physiological autophagy, which result in the accumulation of autophagosomes, autolysosomes, and increased Atg8a expression (PubMed:26086452). Adults display reduced locomotion and decreased life span, likely due to the dysregulation of autophagy which results in the accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins and dysfunctional mitochondria in neuronal and muscle tissues (PubMed:26086452).
